When the justice system has failed...find the strongest rope, the tallest tree and hang the judges and attorney's.

IF he really didn't realize that it was a 13 year old GIRL then misjustice was done. I do realize a lot of younger girls dress and do makeup in a way that makes them look older, BUT be safe and ask for ID every time!

FREE this INNOCENT MAN IMMEDIATELY. This is an outrage! The prosecutor and Judge should be disbarred and JAILED.

Where is justice anymore what about the girl who lied about her age one to get on the site and two to actually lead a man on about her age where was her parents they should be held liable for allowing her to be able to do this this is pure railroad justice.

I pray our justice system grants an appeal and this conviction overturned! I think this individual has been wronged and this case needs to be reevaluated! The law enforcement needs to be reevaluated as to how it handled the arrest and did not advise the defendant of his right to seek counsel. I think the laws that govern the court system, in this situation, need to be looked at, as they clearly were not fairly executed! I believe it is time for situations like this to stop & our justice system needs to work in the proper way in which it was originally set up! There are no winners & TWO victims here!

He is my uncle someone I have ALWAYS LOOKED UP TO AS MY HERO! I remember when he used to be deployed and we would count the days till he came home! He is a very highly respected man in general. He has never been in trouble before and for a charge in which he was victimized to be his first and his life is taken away is way over board. It saddens me that since I was a little girl my uncle has always made it back from every war and always made it to his family. My heart breaks knowing he may never have that chance to reunite with his family ever again due to this. Please review this case and have a heart and realize that its not what it seems.

If the facts stated are true, this is a true miscarriage of justice. A good defense attorney ought to be able to get it thrown out just on the lack of him being properly Mirandized. All evidence collected without, out to be discounted or thrown out?

How very sad! His sentence should not be that harsh. And what about her!!! How many more men is she going to lure into her lies before someone stops her from committing her crimes!!

The question should be asked about sentencing differences between men and women in this type of case. Also the prosecutorial discretion in bringing an insane amount of charges in this case.

This is a terrible injustice. Where does the female's accountability come in to place? She gets to represent herself as something she is not, meanwhile he is locked up. Pathetic

A medical expert has evaluated this man and found that his chances of this ever happening again are just about nill. All of the tests and findings were completely ignored!! This man needs to be set free....her LYING does not warrant him spending his life behind bars!!!

If, after reading this article, you believe that justice was served, please leave America and go to a third world country where your beliefs will be embraced. Seriously, this is not a case of a repeat sex offender or even an intentional act of sex with a minor. It is a case of a man believing what he was told and behaving as a gentleman interacting with an adult female.

Legitimate predators deserve no sympathy; it's a mental disorder that is incurable. This, however, is a far different case. The age sounds low, but young ladies develop far quicker today than in the past - I'm confident that the person in question truly believed her when she stated that she was 18. Sad case on all accounts.

He was seeking and adult and had every reason to believe the woman he met was such. He had no intention of corresponding with a minor. Not his fault! ...Yet it has cost him his life. Furthermore, WHERE ARE HER PARENTS? What's going on her life that she is seeking these types of relationships? Someone needs to look into this!

At what point do we not hold young people accountable for their actions? If they comment murder do we not try them as an adult? How can we say it's ok to go onto an adult site, lie about your age and then not have to pay the consequences ? To ruin another persons life, I feel is a crime! Robbie Shondel Pella,IA
