More than 1 million plastic bags are used EVERY minute globally; only about 1% of those plastic bags are recycled. We request that the state of Minnesota place a tax on all plastic bags to discourage the public from using many if at all. Other states have recorded a significant decrease in plastic bag consumption since a tax was put into place. Doing this will positively impact our environment. Sure, this may not have a tremendous impact yet, a drop in the bucket is still a drop in the bucket. This request will be viewed by Minnesota state legislature and Senators.
