We need to take a sensible, measured, thoughtful approach to increasing the minimum wage that keeps our state competitive with surrounding states and protects the jobs of our people. There should be a tiered minimum wage for those under 18 years of age, no indexing attached to the wage and should be spread out over a few years. This will allow businesses to remain viable while they realize the increases of not only minimum wage but of health care and other expenses that occur ongoing as well.

Raising the minimum wage to the proposed number with tier system can not be "passed on" to the customers of Minnesota. Raising hamburger prices to $15 and a basic domestic beer to $8.00 will keep Minnesotans OUT of restaurants killing the industry. This stuff Must stop!! The only way to make this work would be by cutting staff which affects service. Lack of service means the losing of customers and the cutting of jobs.

As a small business owner the only way I could stay in business would be to either pass the cost on to consumers or lay-off a manager and re-distribute the wages.

Minnesota is already the highest cost state in so many categories. Let's not make this another one that would have devastating effects on youth employment, border communities and the service industry.

raising the minimum wage HURTS the minimum wage earner more than anyone. prices go that they cannot aford and many jobs will be eliminated.
