I have five children. I want them to find part time work but they can't find it now...what in the world will it be like if and when wages are increased?

It's important to maintaining jobs in our industry that tips are recognized as wages.

There needs to be a 'youth wage'. I am willing to hire 14 yr olds, however, often times they come to us not knowning how to dust, vaccum, sweep, make a bed, pick up garbage, ect. Should/do they really 'earn' $9.50 an hour? What about a training wage?

This bill is a job killer. No one is worth 9.00 an hour working at a fast food place as a crew member. Maby the democrats want to pay 10.00 for a big mac and a gallon of gas. It's a proven fact that when the wage goes up so does everything else. The public union contracts are linked to the minimum wage. The contract is the minimum wage plus 8.00. That is the only want the wage increase. The democrats pass bills and than they deal with the consequences later. This will have a ripple effect by bumping up everyone's wage because the person who is making 10.00 an hour would want to have a wage bump. Most employers give the federal minimum wage.

Higher wages will put me out of business. Small town Cafe just can't justify that type if wage.

As a manager at a family owned restaurant and bar, I honestly feel it's critical to my employer's success to create a tipped employee tier. Some of the staff that I work with make upwards of $200 per shift (without the inclusion of their hourly wage). Don't put us out of business!
