keep in mind bits nit up to BMW..to bring the D model. read below
airplane fuel
regular gas
diesel
kerosene
burning alcohol...
as you could see Diesel and kerosene.is almost at the bottom of the list.
diesel is cheaper than gas to refine
why? ..needs less oxigen..that simple.
the US.gov. dept of transportation.jack up the tax.
so the trucking company.has to pay more for fuel to delivery our goods....are you with me??
now you get a ""D ""Mini...that gets samevmpg as a moped........then the following day....no body.will want to buy gas...........did you get....or should l repeat it again............back in 1985..l has a VW.Rabbit.Diesel...it cost me $7.00.to drive it from Nyc to Boston...Amtrak.train was $50.00(electric)

IIF BMW is allowed to bring.Diesel engines D.in mini coopers..it will cost you in fuel.$7.00.from NYC..to Philadelphia....
if you do that in a car.suv..truck..etc..you are spending.$20 to $40...depend hoe much trsfgi/how fast..YOU may go.

Im retiring soon and plan on traveling. I can see myself in the Countryman SD All wheel. I hunt and fish so will be towing small boat or trailer.

I owned a 2004 hatch back. Retired at 196,000 mi Now driving 2006 S with 238,000 miles. I am 66, ready to retire and want to travel in the style and comfort I have found in mini while having an all wheel with diesel economy.
Being retired the economy will be weighted heavily in final selection.

With the pending VW settlement - I would think some buyers would like another option in diesel. I know I would like to trade my golf for a mini.

Need more competition in Diesel sales and to bring up MINI sells pass the 14% it lost this past quarter.
