In his 2010 Milwaukee County Budget proposal, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker proposed an Aquatics Center in the Southeast portion of Milwaukee County. In the meantime, those living in the 36 square miles surrounding the City of Franklin have been lacking community amenities that would stimulate economic growth. This would be a perfect opportunity to capitalize on county lands in Franklin that do not bring in tax revenue, while adding a community amenity that will stimulate the economy in a city that was once the fastest growing community in Southeast Wisconsin. Therefore, we request that the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors further define the location to the City of Franklin for this proposed Aquatics Center.
