Attn: Town of Milton - Community Services Advisory Committee RE: Need a Cricket pitch in Milton, ON We are a bunch of cricket players from different communities in Milton and play cricket every week end other than winter. As there is no cricket ground or pitch in Milton so we have to go to either Oakville or Mississauga in order to play cricket. Sometime we play on baseball fields in Milton but often have to leave the ground in the middle of the game for the baseball games. As the cricket playing community is growing fast in Milton so we are hoping to get at least one or two cricket pitches in Milton. Pitches could be made in the middle of any soccer field or in any multipurpose fields. A cricket pitch is harmless to the players playing soccer or any other game in the same field and neither it cost much. We spoke to Colin Best (Milton local and regional counsellor) and according to him a cricket pitch could be accommodated in the open space area of the Milton Sports Centre expansion project. According to him we need to submit a petition to the Milton Community Services Advisory Committee and here we are for the same effort. We have an architect engineer playing in our team who could contribute his input in its design. Looking forward to get a positive response from the town on our cricket pitch request and hope we shall be playing next year in our home town of Milton.
