Good indicator that a society historically based on control, domination, profiteering and abuse (Rome) and macho violence (Celtic bragging rights), still gives these criminals such barbaric freedom. Presume that the local powers that be have a vested interest, directly or otherwise, in this money-making barbarism. This is not a "tradition" that can be justified in any way (apart from the money that changes hands between these low-life thugs). Hope that the compassionate folks that obviously exist in such a (in some ways) backward society can win through.

I can't believe this extreemly cruel sport still continues in Ireland and I'm horrified that this annual event is allowed to take place at a public place where the event clearly upsets the local people in many ways. I hope the people of Millstreet Town are able to succeed in putting an end to this outrageous event and help pave the way in the campaign to end Hare coursing in Ireland. My heart bleeds to know this cruel sport continues in Ireland.
