The government has recently talked about revoking the current retirement plan for military veterans that have served for 20 or more years. This is an outrage considering most of the military individuals rely on this as we look to our futures after we can no longer serve due to injuries or just getting to old. Many of us do not save the little money we are paid because we have families to take care of and many travel debts to be paid, bills stacking to the ceiling. We do not have a good 401K program, we have a TSP that is garbage and we can't touch it until 65 without penalties. The current retirement plan gives those of us that love the military the option to stay for 30 to 35 years and retire properly with great benefits after the military breaks us.
