Owner surrenders dogs after his handling of them sparked harassment, death threats Posted: Feb 06, 2015 10:38 PM EST Updated: Feb 06, 2015 10:45 PM EST By Andrew Keller, Multimedia Journalist Connect MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) - A home in rural Midland County has been the center of attention for an all-out social media blitz. Many people have not been happy with the way they perceive dogs are being handled at the home. Pictures of the dogs at the property have spread like wildfire on social media. They show the animals, in small pens, being left outside at a home in Homer Township. In the past three months, the Midland County sheriff and Michigan Department of Agriculture have been to the property several times. They've found no wrongdoing, concluding there's adequate shelter, food and water. But the demand for action has persisted. The sheriff's office's Facebook page has several pleas, a petition online has more than 4,300 signatures and rescue organizations that have shared the concern have received thousands of comments. However, some have made it a personal attack against the owners. A family photo - of who some believe to be the two - is circulating online and one person has left a comment, receiving 339 likes, that says, "I hate you both and I hope you die." TV5 spoke to Midland County Sheriff Scott Stephenson on Friday night and he said not only has this family been harassed, which has really picked up in the last couple of weeks, they were also starting to receive death threats. And because he was concerned for their safety, he visited them today. The conversation lasted for a couple of hours and at the end, the family decided to surrender 14 dogs, which will go to a Holland animal rescue group. The sheriff says some also claimed there was a puppy mill on the property. He said that is not true. TV5 was unable to talk to the family on Frid

This is outrageous of Michigan's Midlandland County to not take serious action and shut this down. You will for ever be known as the County that harbors animal abuser.
