Edward Meakins is an 83 year old gentleman living in Cricklewood, London and his local council London Borough of Barnet are forcing him out of his home. He has lived there for 74 years. He is frail and his most precious possesions now are his beautiful garden which he lovingly tends as well as his wonderful memories of a happy life spent with his family in this house. This is just another example of the manner in which our elderly and vulnerable members of society are marginalised and sidelined and we must make a stand on behalf of those who cannot do so for themselves. I urge everyone with a sense of decency to sign this petition so we can put pressure on those making the decision. This gentleman should be allowed to remain in his family home for the remainder of his days.

HEARTBREAKING. This is his home and he should not be forced out by suits in an office.

He has been there longer than most of the people working at the council have been alive. respect his history.

Ridiculous that they want to toss him out. He is 83 for goodness sake let him stay in his own garden.
