United Artists was the first independent movie studio in Hollywood, founded in 1919 by three actors and a filmmaker as a financing backbone and distributor for independent productions. Then after years of simply being a production company and arthouse label under MGM after its purchase in 1981, UA tried to return as a financing and distributing backbone in 2006 when Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner came in and tried to revitalize its former glory, but it all failed after only two movies.

Now, UA is a joint venture between MGM, TV producer Mark Burnett, and Hearst Corporation, known as the United Artists Media Group (UAMG), with Mark Burnett as its CEO and his wife Roma Downey as its president, but all Burnett and Downey cater to when it comes to their duties at UAMG is simply producing reality TV shows and faith-based content, so they need to revive UA's old movie operations as a financing and acquisitions backbone for independent film productions and hire someone like Rob Lowe or Ridley Scott (or probably both) to be in charge of the film division, or maybe at least they should bring back Tom Cruise and he won't screw everything up again.
