My son is in his English class where this all took place. First, my son said they had a substitute teacher and if Mrs. Davis was there she would have used common sense and it would have never resulted in this. Second, my son heard the whole conversation and he said that the only thing that was said is that youtubers have been saying that if they get a certain amount of likes they would shoot up a public school and he they would never do that. He never said anything about himself shooting up a school or anything like that. My son just told me that Jon is expelled for the rest of the year and he has to redo the 9th grade and can never play sports?!?! That is uncalled for and completely over board. My son has been accused of 2-3 things in the past and when I heard his side and the schools side and then investigated myself he was innocent and the school apologized. Jon needs to be reinstated, his athletic eligibility needs to be reinstated and he needs an official apology.

Yes it is a serious subject but come on people!! If you don't know the whole conversation then you should stay out of it....

It's time that we put a stop to school officials abusing their position. If they want to play lawmen, they need to hear BOTH sides of every story!

Our school does take things seriously in this manner but the way they go about it is wrong. If I wasn’t worried about the negative repercussions on my academics and athletics, I would be right there to support Jon in every way possible through this. I know exactly how it is to be blamed and unfairly punished for something this serious.

I understand the schools intention to make an example of students as a means to deter others from repeating the same behavior, however Jonathan has done nothing to make him that student. Enough already.

I’ve known Jonathon since he was born. He is very caring and compassionate- and would not hurt anyone. I understand that these matters of school violence cannot be taken lightly but please focus your time and attention on someone who really needs it. Jonathon is not a threat and should be allowed to return to school.

Jonathon was excused by the court system due to the evidence presented and his suspension should be lifted for the same reason.
