We are residents of the District of Columbia and Metropolitan area. We are students. We are interns, and we are employees. We are taxpayers. We are consumers, and we are patrons. We are commuters. We have great ambition and big dreams. We also have light pockets and student loans. And as much as the city depends on us, we depend on the Metro - for fast, reliable, and, most of all, economic transportation. We, the undersigned, on behalf of nearly 150,000 students of the DC-Metro area are standing together to ask the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to recognize this, and, following the lead of other urban transportations systems, offer a student discount on the Metro rails and buses.
