Luddite approach by a luddite mayor, to an obvious win-win for all parties involved.

Investment in public transport and infrastructure is paramount for the growth and wellbeing of any economy. The short sightedness of the London mayor is surprising given that the local economies of not just Watford but also those of the London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon will be negatively affected.
It should also be pointed out that as well as the commuters from Hertfordshire, more significantly for the Mayor people from the aforementioned London Boroughs use the Met Line to travel to the Watford area, and these are voters that Sadiq Khan is accountable to.

People are parking in front of residential homes and catching the trains into central London. Having the extra stations would eliminate the car traffic from further a field and subsequent congestions in the suburbs of Moor Park, northwood, Pinner, etc as underground would be available to residents of Watford, high Wycomb, etc from the two new stations!!!!!

One notes that the people principally affected by Khan's decision don't have votes in the London Mayoral elections.

Please stop playing politics, make good use of the work/money already spent on preparation work for the Croxley Rail Link, and capitalise on the £73m now found to underwrite the MLX. This isn't just for Watford - the Croxley Rail Link will also benefit Greater London.

This is beneficial in so many ways. Links to the major hospital in the area and the football stadium and shopping. Will reduce congestion and pollution. Having obtained the funding it should proceed without further delay.

It would have helped with the commute to Watford as the roads in Watford are very congested.

I thought TFL’s catchphrase was ‘Every journey matters’.Obviously that’s not the case if it happens to be in Watford.I cannot believe that this is being used as a political football by Sadiq Khan who I voted for in the London mayoral elections. He won’t get my vote next time. The Met Line Extension is vital to boost passenger numbers on the Watford branch & will benefit people in North West London too.I’ve talked to lots of people who’ve taken the train to Watford Met to go shopping in Central Watford & they’ve all said how useless it is to have the Station so far away from the town centre. Please hurry up & build this excellent extension!!!

Watford Hospital is fast becoming a significant force in the North West of London, however it’s poor transport links mean that patients and visitors must travel there by car, tesultimg in pollution. The new rail link would help this reduce pollution, and I believe that is a principal aim of the Mayor’s? Additionally, Watford football club is now a major draw from all over London. As such a direct link from the North west of Greater London would be a significant boon.

Watford and the surrounding areas need this project to come to fruition to ensure that development plans for the area are not thwarted.

I implore Mr Khan to reconsider. This is critical investment needed to stimulate the local economy and to provide vital travel connections to London. Failure will be a short-sighted decision and poor outcome to not just the local community but far beyond.

Improved transport links are essential to allow economic growth and facilitate environmental improvement in this part of Greater London. This opportunity to make better use of the Met Line should not be lost - before the land is redeveloped in some other form. A golden opportunity must not be allowed to slip away.
