The music programs at Messalonskee High School are important to everyone involved in them, and those who aren't. Chorus and band create a safe environment for students to express themselves, develop their individuality and make close friendships with students who enjoy similar activities. These curricular classes shouldn't be cut in funding any more than maths or sciences should be. Messalonskee's music program is one of the most developed and highly accredited in the state of Maine. The music programs and the arts are some of the most beneficial areas of education that are available to students and most definitely should not suffer any more funding cuts than they already have.
