The restrictions are gone and the message limits have been lifted. We won this because we refused to accept a platform that silenced our connections. Keep testing the new features and report any lingering bugs directly to the support team.
We understand that a site like tumblr is hard to manage. We understand that it takes time, effort, and dedication to maintain the quality of the site. But it is this consistent quality that keeps up coming back each day, that keeps us recommending friends to join, that encourages even celebrities to start a tumblr. Tumblr is simple, it's easy to use, and it's allowed so many of us to forge lasting, wonderful friendships.
But the restriction of messages jeopardizes those friendships and the desire to continue returning to the site. It makes us feel more secluded, closed off, and silenced. This is a violation of our right to express ourselves, however we want, privately with our friends over the site. And we would like it to stop.
We have nothing but respect for the time and effort put into keep up the site. We love tumblr, and we'd like to keep encouraging people we know to join the site and experience what we've experienced, too.
We would to have the following restrictions removed:
character limits
paragraph restrictions
message limits
and the inability to send links
Simply put, we want to make it easy and fun to continue messaging our followers and the people we follow on tumblr. We know this is possible. The recent changes to the site have been largely welcomed and beneficial. But these message changes do not benefit users, they make us want to leave. There would be nothing but gratitude if these restrictions were lifted. We don't want to leave tumblr. We want to stay here. Help us stay here.
The restrictions remain despite our messages to the support team. Please take a moment to tag the official staff accounts on your blogs and ask for these limits to be removed immediately.

it feels like they want us to stop talking to each other. so frustrated because this used to be the best way to keep in touch with everyone.
