This petition is to be forwarded to the Governor of Pennsylvania, The Honorable Tom Corbett, in hopes of bringing attention to the excessive abuse of the posted speed limit of 35 MPH, on North Maple Street, aka PA Rt. 258/Clarksville Road. After exhausting all efforts at the local government levels, to have the existing, antiquated, ill-kept signs, replaced/improved/increased, this is the last recourse. To date, the following agencies/individuals have already been contacted: Mercer Borough Police, Mercer Borough Town Council, PA State Police, PENNDOT, Congressman Mike Kelly, PA House Member Richard Stevenson and State Senator Bob Robbins. It has been stated, this is a Mercer Borough "issue", and one (1) new sign has been ordered by the Borough. It is my contention, strictly for the need of public safety and adherence to the law, that the state step up, to address and assist in every way possible, to include financial.
