On Christmas Eve one of the asylum seekers, George Jacob Samuel Christin, died from ill health due to poor conditions on the boat. He was also a Roman Catholic. His fellow passengers wish to conduct a funeral prayer service on the boat.
The Christians on board were unable to attend church on Christmas day and Father Adrianus Suyardi's visit will help provide them with some spiritual guidance.
We request that Father Adrianus Suyadi be allowed access to the boat immediately.

Just let him do his job and help these people. Theyre suffering enough as it is. Humanity should come first.

This is just heartless. Everyone deserves comfort when they are grieving especially under these terrible conditions. Let the priest on board.
