If people understand about mental health and how it impacts on people and their families it will hopefully increase awareness and tolerance - surely a good thing!

As someone who suffers from depression & anxiety, I think this is a very important issue. I didn't know where to go to get help until I got to university, and suffered all through sixth form with my problems - which I shouldn't have had to do

I'm an occupational therapist and I think this a great opportunity for us to go in to schools and teach resilience skills - early intervention is the key.

The stigma surrounding mental health is that it should be shunned and ignored as it isn't regarded as being a significant problem but not enough people are aware of mental health

Teaching about mental health in schools would help reduce the stigma of mental illness. Valuable and vital in a world of ever growing numbers of people suffering from depression, anorexia, anxiety and a whole host of other mental illnesses.
