College sports are vitally important in teaching the values of teamwork and competition, leading to success off the field. Please don't let technicalities impact the lives of our future leaders. Thanks

As a parent of a Menlo College student-athlete, I want to share my concern and strong encouragement for the NCAA to grant Menlo full membership. Without full participation, Menlo is placed at a disadvantage that directly affects recruiting and the retention of talented scholar-athletes. These limitations make it difficult for young men and women—who are fully committed both in the classroom and in their sport—to compete on a level playing field. At a time when many state schools in the greater Bay Area have dissolved their programs, the opportunities for student-athletes to pursue both education and athletics have become even more limited. Menlo stands out as one of the few schools in the region that continues to invest in athletics and student success. The NCAA should be excited to support and recognize a college that shares its values and is dedicated to giving students every chance to grow through sport. I believe granting Menlo full NCAA membership will strengthen not just the college, but the broader athletic community as well. Please consider how meaningful this step would be for the many student-athletes—and their families—who have entrusted Menlo with their futures.

I enjoy watching Gilbert play baseball. He is a very good person. He is a great teammate who encourages his mates. If he doesn’t get picked it will be a great loss for the team.
