Maria-
You used to live just a few houses away from me, and although we never really spoke and were in different grades, I will never forget you. Rest in peace.

Given the amount of people and the range from where they are from, it is a real possibility that we can be heard all over the nation, and prove to the school that the way that they go about protecting the students is wrong

Also, if that event does occur, the school can be held liable.

Its a big deal, for the things I mentioned in my comment above, it needs to be known that if someone kills themselves because the school allowed us to have a memorial for Maria, then the school can be found liable

Look, I know that the school isn't doing what we want them to do, but they make a good point. It doesn't glorify suicide, but what it does do is give people who are depressed a feeling that if they die, they will be loved. I agree that what the school is doing is wrong, but please try to understand the problem
We miss you Maria...

I never really knew Maria, especially since I was two years older, but I think we should always show solidarity. From what I've read in the comments, is the school refusing to memorialize her?

I met her once and Stoller needs to understand that if you lose someone it doesn't matter how you lost them it matters that people care about the person

I used to always see Maria in the hallway at school and she had the nicest smile I've ever seen. I barely even knew her and she was always there to give me a warm smile. I miss that, and it sucks that our school won't let us remember that smile, so I'm happy to help let our voices be heard in remembering Maria forever.

I hope this works. The school will find any petty reason to save money/time/effort

Maria was my best friend in 3rd grade and she deserves to be remembered. We can use this as an opportunity to teach kids about suicide prevention and how to help someone even when they don't need help.
