Human rights are equal rights. Doesn't matter if you are gay, straight, black, white, or purple.

This proposed amendment makes no sense from either a moral or economic viewpoint. As residents of Indiana, we should strive to be welcoming to all people by protecting the civil rights of all of our citizens.

What a shameful, discriminatory bill. My home, my Indiana should welcome marriage and unity to all.

What happened to the Manchester College that was my home community? The place where we wore black arm bands and lived not just tolerance but compassion? What happened to the brave leadership of our beloved institute of peace? MU should lead us in the race for equality rather than be only bystanders.

I understand MU's desire to maintain an atmosphere of respect for various political stances, but I think that this situation calls for more than political consideration. It's a moral issue, and our university values and mission statments point us in the direction of opposing this proposed amendment.

Manchester's LGBT community was life-changing for me as a freshman, and I want Manchester to stay a place of enlightenment and civil rights. Neutrality is enabling systematic oppression.
