Member Response to BOD Transition Plan

In the name of transparency, Membership deserves to know the content of the "third stipulation" which spoiled the Memorandum of Understanding . I'm disappointed that we won't be having the smooth transition that we thought we would have after the last Board Meeting. I know the Board has made every effort and bent over backward to have such a transition. I'm not worried about not having a Manager for a brief period. We will survive as we did several years ago during a much longer period without a manager. Since the co-vid arrived we have found out who the essential workers are here. The staff has been running the Co-op with almost no supervision since March. Except for the lottery, which excludes Member participation by chance, the Board's plan is excellent. I expect we'll get a good result and continue with our Co-op's success. Or Membership has the knowledge to help the Board find someone competent and honest. We'll be better than ever. FEAR NOT!

This new board has really been a disservice to this community!

I support the need for answers to these questions.

Colonial Square Cooperative is a corporation with assets in excess of 50 million dollars. Colonial Square needs to maintain our corporate status as a housing cooperative in order to continue our state and city non-profit designation. I am thankful to have the big court repaved. The newly constructed cedar side yard enclosure should last 25 years. Many townhouses have been re-roofed. Dead and dangerous trees have been removed. The Co-op has lacked continuous maintenance for some time and I would like a proper handoff of future maintenance projects so we don’t find our Co-op in a deteriorating state again.

This is not the smooth transition we deserve. This handicaps anyone that is hired. Who has the expertise to determine what a qualified manager needs to know for our particular Co-Op.

The current Board of Directors has summarily discharged the management company, leaving all 427 members, residents and staff members without oversight for an indefinite time, It is not enough to "love" the co-op, it is also necessary to know how to keep it stable, safe and economically sound.

I agree with all who have commented here. I thank Linda Snider for writing this letter and making these important points.

As I explained in my letter to the Board regarding transition, there is a need for careful transition to on-site management and to do nothing precipitous. The BOD needs to explain its rash behavior to the members.

I am concerned that we members are left without management while a new manager is being sought. Why the haste?

I am concerned about projects that are still in process. Do not understand the need for such haste or what the deal-breaker was.

I also would love to better understand the grievances that led to such a big decision
