Megan should be able to be with the kids she knows and is comfortable with. Megan has grown up with her classmates and they are very protective of her and I am sure they would be proud to have her walk with them just a she has walked with them her whole school life.

Last year, two students who are in Special Education at my school were able to graduate with their peers, even though they returned this year to keep preparing for their futures. I'm signing this not only because it seems like Megan is a bright person who has a lot to offer, but also because it was SO cool to see those two students walk across that stage last May. They were extremely proud of themselves as well, which I believe people should get a chance to experience when celebrating with their peers! :)

I sure hope Megan gets to be involved ib this! The students & staff have treated Megan like any other Ed-Co student (poetically even more so!) & she's been in our school since day 1, she & her family deserve this!

Our son and daughter went thru school for 13 years with a student that also had a diability...at Ed-Co. When she walked across that stage during graduation EVERYONE cheered for her. Those kids helped her and worked side by side with her for 13 years. They were proud to be a part of her life and accomplishments. Allow Megan's classmates the same feeling and let her walk proudly across that stage to the cheers of her peers!

This is shameful. How disappointing that the Ed-Co administration is denying Megan, her family and her classmates of this right. There is no question as to what the right thing is. Let Megan walk with her peers and let her experience another year of learning and growth with the guidance of the professionals who know her well.
Schools represent giving students what is best for them. Give Megan what she deserves and what is BEST for her.
It is so disappointing to hear that the Ed-Co administration is trying to strip a student of what is best for her and her peers who have spent 13+ years with her.

I heard of this through a friend who goes to this school. She truly deserves the honor of walking with her classmates. If she needs to come back, she deserves the graduation.

My sister, Andrea was allowed to be represented at her classes graduation at Edgewood-Colesburg. Megan is alive and well and has been with her class just as long as her other classmates. I see no reason why my sister could be represented when Megan is alive and well but she is being denied that right. The school board really needs to rethink this. I know I want the kids with disabilities that should be in the class of 2018 walking down with us. Just because some people consider them "different" they still deserve the happiness we experience when we walk down. It's a good change for the future, and its a GOOD thing.

My son was able to walk with is class and didn't receive his official diploma until following year due to helping him better prepare him as well.

Everyone deserves the best chance they can get to achieve much sought after goals, and to receive the awards due, surrounded by people who have contributed to that hard work, in supportive gestures. In my opinion this young lady has met the requirements for graduation and deserves the chance to graduate with her class. It would be a disservice to this young woman to be denied the chance to return the following year and prepare her for a greater entrance to an outstanding future. Why can't we all think of the future of our kids in their best interest as opposed to some political and probable personal agenda.
