SHABBAT SHALOM!
PLEASE READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE BELOW!
***PLEASE JOIN US AT THE ANNUAL MEETING, DURING DINNER, ON JUNE 23, 2017!
ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO MAKE A DINNER RESERVATION, IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING ON HAVING DINNER, WE STILL MUST HAVE 60 MEMBERS, OF THOSE WHO SIGNED OUR PETITION, OR MORE, IF THEY HAVE NOT SIGNED OUR PETITION, STILL BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT TO CONSTITUTE A QUORUM, FROM OUR GROUP IN ORDER TO BE HEARD!
THE MEETING WILL BE TAKING PLACE DURING DINNER, SO THAT WE ASK THAT EVERYONE BE PRESENT AT 6:00 PM, OR EARLIER!
IN OTHER WORDS, SIGNING OUR PETITION, WHICH WE ARE SO PLEASED TO SEE, IS ONLY THE FIRST STEP!
THE MOST IMPORTANT 2ND STEP, IS THAT WE ALL BE AT THE MEETING ON JUNE 23RD, SO THAT WE WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ''DEMAND" THAT WE HAVE A VOICE IN THIS DECISION, AND BE RESPECTED AS MEMBERS OF THE TI CONGREGATION!!
PLEASE JOIN US FOR DINNER, AND/ OR THE ANNUAL MEETING TO BE PART OF THE 60 MEMBER QUORUM WE ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AT THE MEETING IN ORDER TO HAVE A VOICE IN "DEMANDING" THAT WE BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN REVERSING THIS CURRENT BOARD DECISION!
L' SHALOM!

Rabbi Tom is one of the main reasons that my parents have remained temple members, and he is the reason that my siblings and I joined as members also. He officiated our wedding, and the weddings of both of my brothers. Additionally, he has been very supportive of the temple outreach efforts at Chapman Partnership over the years. This is a huge loss for our Temple Israel congregation, and it doesn't seem fair that there has been zero communication or transparency in this process from the Temple Board.

I am very upset with our Board's decision, as a member of Temple Israel I want Rabbi Tom to stay as our rabbi. I wrote my concerns to the Board and its President and I think everyone should voice their concerns as well.

I grew up at Temple Israel, religious school, Bar Mitzvah, Confirmation. My wife converted with Rabbi Tom. Rabbi Tom married me and my 2 siblings. We looked forward to raising our family with Rabbi Tom and TI. He makes Temple Israel home for us. If he is gone, so is 40 years of me and my family and our future at the Temple.

Rabbi Heyn has done a wonderful job in the community as well as within the congregation. I fully support the petition to open to the full congregation a discussion of continuing his leadership.

Rabbi Heyn was the main reason why I became a member of the Temple last year.

The rabbi is exceptional with the children, who are Thie future of the Temple. The lack of transparency and way the Board went about this decision is disgraceful. If this is the way they conduct themselves it is difficult for me to recommend to potential future congregation members. I find hard to believe that unless something so egregious occurred that whatever the issues are could not be discussed and reviewed in order to renew his contract!

We would like to know the reason the board has decided not to renew the rabbi's contract. Is there something he has done or did not do?

I am a member for the sole reason that Rabbi Heyn is the rabbi. He married me a year ago and I am quite certain there has never been a better ceremony! I fully support the reversal of the board's decision.

I am happy to be advised about the possibility of a change of the present decision. I would be very happy to see Rabbi Tom remain at Temple Israel.
