Currently, there is an extreme lack of online Medical Terminology classes being available to students in the summer of 2010 and other semesters at Southwestern College. Why has this popular class been cut back to one class in the summer and only two classes in the fall/spring? Every term, so many students are being turned away. Medical terminology is the prerequisite for all Medical Office Professional and other Allied Health programs. At this moment, the waitlist [for the only class in summer of 2010] is full. That is 30 students enrolled and 20 students on the waiting list. Unfortunately, there are students that have yet to register and will not be able to get on the waiting list.

 The goal of this petition is to show the level of interest in online Medical Terminology classes. We would like to see at least one more online medical terminology class for summer of 2010. Professor Felicity Penner is teaching the only summer 2010 [MedOp-230] medical terminology class, thus, we would like to request her to teach this class as well.
