Religious freedom is a human right protected by the Canadian Charter. For Muslims and many other students at UTS, meditation and prayer are key to good mental health and spiritual well-being. Students should never have to choose between their individual beliefs and an effective education, but sadly this is a sacrifice many at UTS must make every day. The school's administration has shown they can provide a meditation and prayer space for Ramadan, but one month is far from enough to accommodate students’ daily needs throughout the entire school year. If they can do it for one month, they can do it for ten.

We are sending a petition to UTS' administration demanding the provision of a meditation and prayer space available to all students from September to June. Sign this petition to show your support for the students in need. After all, it is their right.
