Chickens in Medford!

This would mean a lot to me and my partner!

It would be great to have a source for eggs and an opportunity to engage in animal husbandry.

I support amending the existing zoning ordinance to allow up to 6 pet chickens!

My young son learned how to take care of chickens at a summer camp a couple of years ago and wanted a pet "fluffy" chicken as a result. When told that we could not have one he didn't understand why. I couldn't explain the "why" since I didn't understand the reasoning either. Makes no sense to me.

I am a huge fan of chickens and sustainable living.

Especially in this day and age we should be encouraged to raise our own and grow our own. Everything is so polluted or filled with chemicals.

Would be great for families in the communities if they are well cared for.

Many of our neighboring cities are doing this with great success. I think this could be a great benefit for Medford as well.

I have received eggs from friends and family from backyard chickens and love them. Even New York City allows people to raise chickens. Certainly Medford should.

I see no logical reason why this is illegal. 6 hens; no roosters should be allowed. Nothing like fresh eggs.

I don't see any reason to chickens should be illegal in Medford Ma as long as people take care of them. Fresh eggs!
