GVSU students bought their meal plans up to a year ago with the expectations that Kleiner, Fuel, Fresh, and Kirkof centers would be operating at full capacity and able to serve them during posted hours. Now, with hours reduced for most, if not all, dining halls, we as the student body believe we are paying too much for too little.
When signing up for meal plans, most students believed that the wide array of food options would be available to us at their posted hours, and we have paid upwards of $1,875 a student to be allowed to eat wherever and whenever on campus. Since this has not been delivered, we feel that GVSU needs to re-evaluate the value of services provided and either partially refund us for this semester or offer a lower cost for next semester.

I live across Kleiner. It was my main option and now it is not available. I would rather use the refund to buy food and cook at home instead of plan to leave earlier every day to go across campus to get food.
We shouldn’t be paying this much for a meal plan so little. There not even full meals. Two scoops of ice cream with some whip cream is a meal swipe
We are paying so much to have barely anything provided for us. I get food posing a lot of time with meat not being done all the way or old food. Qudoba, Einstein’s, wich wich have not been open all year and blue connection and kliner have one option a day. And if you go to fresh past 7pm they are out of everything.
It's time for Campus Dining to do what is right for our students ~ either bring in outside sources of food and allow them to use their meal plans (for example, food trucks) or refund some of their money.
As a parent... Had I known it would be so difficult for my Daughter to #1 find a dining facility that's open and/or #2 so difficult for her to find meal options despite material all over campus claiming to be for Vegetarians or serve vegetarian options and not have those options or not even be open... I would've NEVER allowed her to pay over $1000 for meals that she couldn't use and then when she was unable to use them they got taken... Should've just flushed the money down the toilet!

Dining at GV sucks this year, and it’s more expensive! I understand the worker shortage in this country, but there still should be leniency on rates of dining plans.
