As the parent paying for this education, 1 of 7, I would much rather the expense of food be applied to education. I raised my children to be good stewards of their money as well as good cooks. There should be an option to cook for your self and use the money for school costs instead.

I'm barely making my way through the semester, financial-wise, one of my biggest wastes being the meal plan because I don't eat much. If there was a smaller and/or cheaper meal plan, I would absolutely do it.

I'd like to have the option to opt out or choose a smaller meal plan. I don't eat a lot and I hardly use points until the end of the year when I spend them all just because I don't want money to go down the drain. Basically, I don't like being wasteful. In fact, Pope Francis' new encyclical specifically talks about
how we as a human society need to be less wasteful. That's why I'd like an option to opt out or choose a smaller meal plan even though I live in campus. Because it's just money down the drain at the end of the year because I just don't eat as much as the smallest plan, and that's something a college student needs less of in this day and age. Thanks, God bless!

I think this is a much-needed change. I rarely used my meal plan last semester, and was frustrated at the amount of money I was obligated to spend on food that I did not eat.

One thing that might help your petition go further is including/having a proposal of what the new meal plans would be. It would give people a clearer idea of what you're thinking about. :-)
