At my High School the marching band I participate in is forced to do our practicing on a parking lot. Not only that sometimes in hot weather we aren't even aloud to retrieve ice for out water due to the fact that a coach of different sports will prevent us from doing so. Here in Marylan marching band is not considered a sport like it would be down south so no many people take us seriously or even care. We pay for everything out of our own money from dues and our yearly fundraiser which doesn't even cover most things we need. All we ask for is a decent field to practice on, a little recognition for our work, andto be respected enough as some sort of physical activity to where we can at least be allowed ice on hot days.
