It would have been great to get those students a chance to move on their career with a fundanental summer class after all the effort made up to this point.

I totally agree ! HESI is unfair. The problem is that most professors in the program expect you to study so hard for the classes, without breaks and they test you on subjects they never covered .. Now on top of that you have to also study for HESI without having a nice grade (due to those insane exams) and without having any base or guidance.
I wouldn't mind studying for the exams and HESI if I had the proper guidance but they do help you at all.
I remember when I took fundamentals the HESI was mostly about medsurg ; we weren't ready for that . I studied from evolve every single day and didn't do anything to me. I haven't touched evolve ever again and I did so much better. Evolve had been pretty much a waste of time for me and my classmates. HESI and evolve are two different things; I do not understand how it would be the same company.
I learned to study so hard and get over 90 - otherwise, you will never be safe . HESI had absolutely nothing to do with the things you learn in class or evolve - as k mentioned before . It's upsetting .
My recommendations is to read all the chapters slowly; it takes a lot of time but read the chapters and make notes . Sit with other students and talk about those things ; the more you talk the more you get used to those things.
Also Saunders ( pink book) and HESI review ( it's like a mini summary- focus on the green boxes).
I am about to start my last semester and I'm already reading . It's being insane but yes read read and read and talk cause definitely those exams the professors create are things you learn on your own. You might as well stay home and teach yourself to get a decent grade cause classes don't help.
Anyways , I'm almost sure they will open a new class if most students fail; I think they always do when they have lots of students.
I honestly wish they realized they r not truly teaching and o hope they realized how hard they are making things for everyone at mdc with these professors specially the ones for fund

They should open a class since many of us just adapted to the new way of studying now having a summer of is just going to though us back instead of keeping us in the learning mode. Many of us quick our jobs now a summer off will just unbalce our lives. We feel bad enough repeating this class. Is not fair.

Students should not be held back two semesters for one test, after successfully passing all their other classes.

They should not make the Hesi worth so much. The Hesi doesn't not determine if you are going to be a great nurse. I meet amazing students in this program that have study so hard and devoted themselves to this program. These students should move along next semester. Something needs to change, if we want amazing nurses with good hearts in the work field.

It is unfair to work so hard an entire semester, end up with a 89 or a 90 and still fail because of one test that doesn't even give you partial credit if you get 50%.

I believe that these students should have a chance to take fundamental over the summer. It is already hard on them to fail, but to be held back for two semesters... they have through so much already.
