Myles Daniels for States 2011
Myles Daniels has been swimming since he was 8 years old and since then he has been trying to make a name for himself in the sport. Hard work determination have as well as faith in God have gotten him to where he is now. After a near drowning, he came back a week later to prepare for the Harford County Swim Meet, a collection of the best swimmers in the county. After being disqualified in his 100 fly event he became upset because the officials did not tell him until he was on the podium to receive his 1st place award. At the Regional Swim Meet Myles took the the block and did his signature cross sign to symbolize his belief in God and cracked his back to loosen up, something he does before every meet for years. Well apparently today, that was seen as unsportsmanlike like and after winning 1st place, he was disqualified AGAIN. As you can imagine any teenage boy would be furious. This is essentially his ticket to college and just like that it was taken away. With all that anger Myles decided to go talk to the officials and what he said angered the official and he was kicked out of the meet. The state swim meet is coming up next week and he needs an appeal to swim. Appeals are very hard to come by this year so we are hoping that with your signatures we can get him into the meet and hopefully off to a good college.
