We request that the new park to be built on Ocean Springs Harbor on the former Harbor Landing property be named in honor of Dr. Thomas D. McIlwain.  We request that the park be designed to provide access and green space to the public - the citizens of the Coast and our visitors.  We call on the Jackson County Commission, the Jackson County Harbor Commission, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, and the City of Ocean Springs to honor Dr. McIlwain in this manner.
