Such a great tradition! My boys loved walking and riding the floats in the parade! We spent hours throughout the years helping to build the floats and driving our truck in the parade. What is wrong with this district!!!

My Sons and Daughter all looked so forward to this parade. Here is the thing, this is not just a parade. This is a team building event, a social event, an opportunity for students to get to know many that they haven't encountered. It is a chance for many that wouldn't normally be excited for a football game. This event gives the community, both business and residents a common shared interest, an opportunity for everyone to have a reason for everyone to get behind. A great student that is prepared for college and beyond is a well rounded student, academic as well as social and volunteerism are ALL so very important. I understand the school is facing a challenge of timing, but you need to be professionals, just like in any career and figure this out, not just cancel it.

Please bring back the Homecoming parade. I believe it to be enjoyed by HS students, elementary students, alumni and the people of McHenry.

I just found out about this and I'm shocked. I don't know why they would take this away. Being a part of the homecoming parade was a blast.

You need to rethink the parade. I really think the excuse of testing is a copout. Move the parade to Thursday or later on Friday. Stop taking fun activities away from the kids. You are supposed to be all for the kids in your profession, and I am not seeing that from the administration of this district.
