I grew up watching and then participating in the parade myself! It should remain a tradition!

Sad that traditions are being removed from Mchenry high schools yearly. No king or queen... A royal instead. First in class is no longer recognized.

Why would they take it away? It was always such a highlight to homecoming marching on the streets around McCracken and seeing the community get together for it. I loved that the elementary school students lined up to watch as well.

Please bring back the parade! Schools need tradition. Urban schools are reinstating traditions in order to bring pride. We should keep it.

Please reconsider this decision. Homecoming Parade and games is a way to keep our community involved. Parents bring their smaller kids who look up to the High School kids, make them want to become a part of this. Keep making the cuts and you will see less student involvements, less community involvements and a big decrease in support for our schools and faculty.

I loved the Homecoming parade, however this has to do with a deeper rooted problem. There is no such thing as community support anymore. There is very little student support, except a core group of students. The school as a whole needs to reevaluate their sense of spirit and involve the community more. The administration needs to focus on more than AP testing, and focus on their students. If students hate coming to school, they won't want to participate in anything. Why are there no more lock downs? What happened to the windows being painted? To the downtown businesses being painted? A LOT needs to be changed.
