The McDonald's Code of Conduct sets out very basic rules for suppliers. Employees can work no more than 60 hours a week and must have at least one day off. These conditions are lifted in the event of 'extraordinary business circumstances'. The document also forbids forced work and child labour, among other things. Yet McDonald's has direct dealings with multiple suppliers who have not even agreed to this Code. Although McDonald's claims that it will refuse to do business with such suppliers, 5% have not agreed to follow basic laws of human rights. Sign this petition to McDonald's and we can change that.
