Support action against Yaxley Parish Council
On Sunday 15th March 2009, notices were left on beloved ones graves at Yaxley Lawn Cemetry, Cambridgeshire. The Notice states after 28 days, employees of the said council, will remove the following from the graves Ornaments Lights other objects kerbs rails chippings trees shrubs plants or vases It states If a vase block is installed it must be positioned in the bed at the head of the grave, in line with headstones on adjacent graves. No other ornaments, vases or lights are to be placed in the bed at the head of the grave. If overcrowding ot the bed at the head of the grave occurs the extra items will be removed. The notice also includes vaults for the internment of cremated remains. The council therefore state, every loved ones grave is to be cleared of all personal treasured items. I Marion Elaine Southgate propose, any object taken without permission or consent of the owner, is classed as stealing and constitues theft. I propose the Yaxley Parish Council seek a court order to remove such items from these graves. I also propose, Yaxley Parish Council did not follow correct council procedure by failing to inform all relatives as to their intentions, and very insensitively dropping notices' on the graves. Please sign and support this statement, and I will present all signatures to our local Member of Parliament.
