There is increasing pressure across England to build on the Green Belt and in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These are some of the most precious pieces of land in the country, enjoyed by everyone everyday.
The current government have committed themselves to protecting both these areas, but the experience of High Speed Rail 2 shows that we cannot rely on these designations as protection.
