Thank you for your signature on this petition, which affirms that you are aware of the liabilities placed upon all citizens of Wilson County by Riverbend Community LLP; a/k/a Avalon; a/k/a Maverick Golf Club; a/k/a The Green Pepper Restaurant. This entity, based in Florida, is a drain on the Floresville community and as a community we are making a stand to ask the Judge, which is overseeing this entity because of Chapter 11, to allow local investors to purchase the Maverick / Avalon Community. The Florida based company owes debts to over 175 creditors, some local to Wilson County, of over $27,000,000.00, which includes taxes to the City, County and School over $269,000.00. They have practiced evasive realty dealings, by having a non-Realtor agent act as if they can sell homes. This company has misled in the way they perform sales, advertising and promotional activity; which is giving the city of Floresville a black eye to the public. They have a debt to F.E.L.P.S in the excess of $15,000; to our knowledge this does not include debt to F.E.L.P.S set aside by the bankruptcy judge. Which means customers of F.E.L.P.S will be paying for their electricity. A copy of this petition along with an introductory cover letter will be presented to our local government entities and State and U.S. representatives in our voting district. We need our local press to inform the citizens of this community of these endeavors. We solicit their help as they are the voice of our community. There are numerous local buyers that would like the opportunity to purchase Avalon / Maverick community. They would like to make the Avalon / Maverick community a place once again, that Floresville will be proud to have in their community. This would also move ownership from Florida to Texas, where it belongs.
