I recently quit a job as a massage therapist for a local chiropractor because he would not allow me to clean the face cradle that clients rested their faces in during treatment between each client. I filed for unemployment during my interim job search and was denied because the unemployment office said I quit without just cause. I for one would not want to put my face into a face cradle after other people had their faces in it and if it had not been cleaned. As a professional I swore to protect my clients. Not cleaning the face cradle between clients caused an ethical dilemma for me. I even paid for bleach and tried to use a recommended bleach/water solution so as to not cause an expense for the chiropractor, but to keep within my professional ethics. He would not let me use it. Please sign my petition to show that people would want this practice of cleaning between clients done.
