I find it very sad and unfortunate that an entire group of masons that have been doing an outstanding job and their communities, are being told to disband based on a clerical technicality.

The "Widows Sons" are a very respectable group of Masons. The work they have done in the name of Masonry is admirable and should be acknowledged for the good they have done.

Ridiculous..... This drops my stomach. I've spent time with you brothers here in the fine state of Kentucky. It sickens me to see that Masonry has started to become more of a business and a who's who fraternity. We have long since changed from the days when a man would LITERALLY risk his life to attend lodge. For if he was labeled a mason it would mean death. So far have we strayed from the days when stories tell us of enemies sparing lives on the battlefield if they recognized another brother. From the lessons that a poor man, a rich man, and a scholar could all gather on equal grounds in peace, love, and harmony. I read the edict issued. To not ask for permission after being in existence for years of doing good works in the public eye. The Grand Lodge, punishing an entire branch of Masonry, “possibly”, for the actions of a few and with such a knee jerk reaction showing an unwillingness to handle situations the same as if they were conducted within the confines of our Blue Lodge. If we conducted ourselves in this manner in fairness and equality, masonry would not exist in any state. Obviously there are facts that remain hidden to us at this time and the whole truth lies somewhere in the middle of the opinions from both sides, but, the only thing that comes to my mind is, how ridiculous this makes our fraternity look to act against brothers as a whole and not the “alleged” problem that may exist. Brothers of the Massachusetts Widow Sons, hold steady in this time of trial. Stay strong in your faith, in your brotherhood, and act accordingly. Peace and harmony will prevail if our hearts remain pure and true.

Massachusetts is far, far away from Alaska, but a brother is a brother, and all true Widows Sons are brothers of mine. The Widows Sons is a wonderful Masonic organization.

I am a mason and I am not part of the Widow Sons but am a brother to many of them. They do great work and are all on the level. Having a hard time with this. Please reconsider
