Due to the fact that the Delta variant affects children more than the original strain and that there are no vaccines for under 12 years old kids, masks should be mandatory at schools with below 12 year old students.

Stop pandering to the loudest members of the community and do the right thing for the children in your care. An educational institution should make their policy decisions based on science, and the science clearly shows that masks are effective at preventing the spread of Covid, especially when many students in the district are not or can not be vaccinated. Many families are extremely disappointed in the poor decisions being made by district administration and the school board. Want to keep your 9/10 rating of parents who say the school provides a safe environment for students? Provide a safe environment for students. Require masks.

I know some of your schools were able to stay open all last year. You know why? Masking and other solid mitigation protocols were in place. Ignore the politics. Follow the science. Protect your dedicated staff and students.

CDC guidelines are clear for unvaccinated people and children under 12 to mask indoors. Our children have never had an issue with masks. The only time I have heard complaints has been from adults. They were required last year prior to the more contagious delta variant. That along with other layered mitigation measures allowed for a healthy, nearly uninterrupted in person school year. Please mandate masks so that we may have another successful in person year. There are students that live with at risk immune compromised family members, with no virtual option from the school system, and minimal mitigation measures you are putting their health at risk. Please consider this simple solution to keeping students and their families healthy.

As a immune compromised elder adult who watches our granddaughter at muskego lakes middle school I feel every precaution especially masks should be implemented during the Delta virus covid-19 spread. She is unable to be vaccinated due to her age.

Masks are the only way to protect unvaccinated children from COVID. Please make masks mandatory, even if it is only until vaccines are widely available for ages 5-12. We need our kids in school. We need them protected. You have the power to make that happen — with masks!

The CDC and positions recommend masks for people indoors. Children are people and they will be indoors. It is negligent to not have a mask mandate for schools.
