The teachers and administration at Parkland high school have grown far too lenient with the mask that should be required of our students. Over last week covid cases skyrocketed, classrooms were near empty and all that was done was we can't line up at the door after before the end of the bell.

As a student who goes to this school, it is terrible to come to school every day and have students not wearing their masks properly, whether that be under their nose or chin, and not being told anything by the adults of this building. There are some students who will walk the halls without a mask at all and they have nothing said to them. It's frustrating to have come out of quarantine for possibly having covid and seeing students being so wreckless with no repercausions.

The masking requirement has been an issue since the start of the year with students wearing neck gators, mesh masks, and/or masks made out of plastic with large holes. Those are proven to not be as effective as a standard medical mask. The medical masks should be proved for those students who don't have them and throughout the day teachers should tell students to wear them properly above their noses and under their chins.

There has been a lack of care from the administration for the well-being of students by allowing this to fester for as long as it has. For us, our futures could be in danger because we weren't encouraged to do what was right and wear a mask properly.

Please, if you agree with anything we have said and you go to Parkland High School sign this petition, and help bring about change.
