There are more serious issues that need to be addressed first, such as your school dress code policy

Individual discernment and personal health monitoring are cornerstones of our constitutional guarantees. Unnecessary overreaching fear based mandates are wrong and actually more harmful in the long run.

Can go to professional baseball and football games with no mask, but our kids have to suffer. What a joke

It just does not make sense to mandate masks for the young children, especially when there are no other restrictions in Monroe. The kids are "exposed" outside the classroom in many venues. Not to mention the risk of severe disease to children is statistically zero. Also, adults should not ask children to mask for their safety since the vaccine has been available for months to adults.

SO many reasons not to be FORCED to wear masks. Absolutely agree it should be up to the Individual or Parent/Guardian. Having a chemical imbalance / lack of Serotonin (causes panic attacks, etc). In addition to lessening the body's ability to fight off infection, masks not effectively blocking the spread....

While I respect what the board is trying to do, I feel it is discriminatory in it's own way. First, schoolers are much more active than lower grades. Second to mandate 6th graders in a school where literally 2/3 of the students are not wearing masks is ridiculous. Can we focus on more important issues such as the bullying and sexual harassment in the schools. When a student attempts suicide and staff are commenting how stupid (their words) that she did not cut deeper. Tell me what student feels like they have a trusted staff member they can talk to. It's time to admit their is a problem and start making changes.

Please consider giving us a choice I get headaches daily for wearing a mask at work. I need to breathe while cleaning my school. I suffer from hot flashes and wearing a mask makes them 10 times worse.

Children wearing masks hinder natural immunity. They cause breathing difficulties wearing a mask for any length of time. Please do not put Monroe's children in jeopardy of long-term breathing problems caused by wearing a mask. Thank you!

We as parents have the decision for all of our kids health choices and this mask mandate policy should be no different!
