The Green Lake Country Visitors Bureau alongside Green Lake Greenways is writing this petition to the Wisconsin Department of Tourism (Travel Wisconsin) so that the Mascoutin Valley State Trail is listed in their next printed bike guide publication.
The Mascoutin Valley State Trail is 12 miles in length stretching through the diverse ecosystems within Green Lake County. You can explore nature, see native plant species and enjoy wildlife while biking or walking the trail. This trail bridges communities, encourages exercise and outdoor activities, while at the same allowing users to learn about our area.
The Mascoutin Valley State Trail has one trail head located in Berlin, with parking, ice cream shop and restaurants nearby to meet the needs of residents and visitors alike. The second trail head is located just outside of downtown Ripon, near The Rippin Good Cookie factory, which is why the trail is nicknamed the "cookies and ice cream trail”. What’s more, a few miles into the trail from Ripon, a new rustic winery has opened welcoming all trail users.
Green Lake Greenways Inc. in partnership with Green Lake, Winnebago and Fond du Lac Counties, along with many area businesses has restored the surface of the gravel trail to accommodate bicyclists and walkers. The Fond du Lac County section will be renovated in Spring 2014 thanks in part to a DNR trails grant.

This 12 miles trail connection Berlin,WI to Ripon. WI supports excercise and nature and one can walk or bike this excellent nature trail.
We run on the trail occasionally and see all sorts of wildlife and waterfowl . Please include this trail.
Green Lake Cty. needs to be represented..it is a beautiful cty. full of good bike trails.
