It's absurd and will encourage people to walk they extra few minutes to Stratford for a cheaper fare. Maryland is a great--and neglected--station with loads of potential. Help it, and you help yourselves Newham Council.

Fare zoning should be fair and encourage the use of public transport. Maryland is just 800m from Stratford station. Putting it in a higher fare zone distorts the zoning system and discourages people from using their closest public transport station. Rezone Maryland to Zone2!

It is vital that public transport works for the people who need to use it, and many of the residents in Cann Hall (Southern edge of Waltham Forest) use Maryland station. It is so close to Stratford it is crazy that it is in a different zone. We need to keep fares at levels that do not discourage people from using public transport, especially on main routes like this, which carry many to work every day.

It is in Stratford and it seems as if the authorities are purposely discriminating against poor members of the Stratford community who live around Maryland, particularly the disabled and infirm.

Maryland is part of Stratford area and their commuters should benefit of cheaper travel by including us in the same travel zone 2/3 as Stratford Station. I'll support all future petitions in these regards until our voice will be heard by the Local Authority .
