For those whom are not aware, John Mayer, the 7-time Grammy award winner, who is widely recognised for his songs such as "Gravity", "You're Body is a Wonderland" and "Daughters", has for many years now played his customised Martin OM28 of which was in limited production for a short period of time before being discontinued.

The Martin OM28 John Mayer is an Orchestra model guitar, featuring solid East-Indian Rosewood back and sides coupled with its solid Engelmann Spruce top with ageing toner, which all together makes for an excellent sounding instrument. Furthermore, this guitar is heavily recognised for John's addition of the thin strip of aluminium which borders the bridge of the guitar, as well as the triangle inlay on the 12th fret... Not to mention his signature on the very bottom fret.

As I mentioned earlier, the OM28 John Mayer is now discontinued model of the Martin brand, which has left tons upon tons of fellow John Mayer enthusiasts (myself included) saddened that we are not able to play the very same guitar as our idle. Not only this, there was a limited production of 404 signature models which sold like hotcakes, as you can very well imagine.

Nowadays, the OM-28 John Mayer can been found on websites such as E-Bay for prices ranging from £6,000 to £10,000 and on the occasion, even more. On a brighter note (if my fellow guitar enthusiasts will pardon the pun), Martin has released a similar version of the OM28 John Mayer, the OMJM, which is basically a scaled down version of what the original was and today sells for £3,299.

While this is all good, I am not wanting to play a scaled down version of the John Mayer experience, knowing that this isn't quite actually what he plays. I want to be provided with the full blown John Mayer experience, and by saying that, I feel that I speak on behalf of all of Mayer's fans.

Personally, I'd like to see the OMJM discontinued with it's bigger brother the OM28-JM being introduced at a price somewhere between £2,500 and £3,500.

To sum this petition up, I would like to see the return of the Martin OM-28 John Mayer signature model in the near future. This guitar plays like a dream, and I have even listed some videos down below of John playing his signature model, just so you can all see and hear how good this guitar is for yourselves.
