Prof. Marenco was one of the best instructors I had at Pacific. He made it possible to look at tough subjects in a deeper more rounded way than we had before. He asked us to ask the hard questions. I can not imagine Pacific without him there!

I believe that Pacific University has made a mistake in their decision to fire Marc Marenco, a "tenner," or someone who has been working at an institution for more than ten years. His intelligence in his profession of philosophy shined equally as bright as his ability and will to teach students in a unique and thorough manner. The passion in the way he spoke made it clear that he cared about his work, his students, and the world in general. His appreciation for the subjects that he taught made it easy for students to connect with and feel empathy or concern for our society today. He made our Civic Engagement course so much more than it could have been, and having found out that he knew he was going to get fired and didn't give up on his students and Pacific, just goes to show what a caring, wise, and compassionate person Professor Marenco truly is. I look up to him as a person and think that he would be very much missed here at Pacific.

I had Professor Marc Marenco my freshmen year FYS. He really helped me develop college level skills to improve my academic standing. He is honest and great Professor! I would be upset for Pacific to release him.

Professor Marenco is one of the most wonderful professors I’ve known throughout my time at Pacific. He takes the time to really listen to students, while providing a space for them to learn and thrive. In my Bioethics class, we have tackled some of life’s most difficult topics in a constructive, analytical, and respectful manner. He gave us the tools to know how to do that and guided us through it. He truly cares about his students, not only in their academic pursuits, but as people. Overall, a brilliant, warm, and committed professor who wants to see his students succeed.

I had Bioethics with him and he was a very kind and thoughtful professor. He cared about students' achievement in class and was willing to provide supports when they asked for helps.

I’ve not Marc most of my time at Pacific. He has always been kind and a great person to me. I met him in Concert Choir last year and have taken his Ethics and Society class this semester. I’ve loved him as a mentor and professor and enjoyed his class thoroughly.
